When the country’s most prestigious School of Journalism needed to make the total transition to HD, they turned to the Big Picture team: Devlin Design Group, VDO and 615 Music.KOMU-TV says “this was an easy choice.  All three companies showed an advanced understanding of broadcast news in general and helped us take our news product to the next level…for the next generation of journalists.”

Shelly Silvery, KOMU-TV Creative Services Director, was handed the task of choosing the design team for new HD graphics, set and a new music package, and it needed to be complete for May sweeps. The University of Missouri is the leader in teaching Journalism, and KOMU-TV is the teaching laboratory that showcases students along with a professional team to give future broadcast journalists the finest real-world experience.

The new on-air look for KOMU-TV started with a syndicated HD package from VDO, and the client added a few custom pieces to highlight certain coverage. Silvey liked this option because it was cost efficient but allowed some creative input for their branding needs.
