YNN Staff “Stands Up and Cheers” for New Graphics Package Created by VDO

Buffalo, NY:  Pat Obermeir, VP of Creative Services for NY1 and Time Warner Cable Newschannels, is enthusiastic in her praise for VDO, the graphics design firm that helped TWC’s March 25th launch of Your News Now (YNN), a new 24-hour news, weather and sports channel in Buffalo.
“Working with VDO was fabulous,” Obermeir said.  “We were looking for a real breakout design for the Buffalo launch of YNN.  The VDO team was extremely responsive – they just totally got it.  They knew where we were going and came back with perfect ideas.  During our in-house presentation of the completed package, our sales staff actually stood up and cheered.”

Buffalo joins a growing group of Time Warner Cable news stations in the New York area with the YNN brand and covers western New York state. Other YNN broadcast outlets include Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Binghamton and New York City.

“YNN is 24-hour, hard-hitting, serious news,”Obermeir said.  “We have the advantage of being hyper-local, able to really stick with a story as it develops.  So it was critical that the graphics package incorporate images of the city, to show that YNN is a real part of the community.”  She added, “VDO really captured that fresh, energetic feeling in their design.  It gives us a great branding opportunity for Buffalo and for our sister stations throughout New York.”
